Culinary Academy of Las Vegas and Bank of Nevada Announce Community Partnership

LAS VEGAS – The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas has announced Bank of Nevada will be the first business to participate in the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas’ (CALV) Community Partnership program, to promote CALV’s Westside Bistro and highlight the Academy’s programs throughout the month of April. The campaign kickoff will take place on Monday, April 2 at the Westside Bistro located at 710 W. Lake Mead, North Las Vegas, NV 89030.

“We are grateful to Bank of Nevada for partnering with us to support hospitality job training and career development,” says Chief Executive Officer Steven Horsford. “Every time Bank of Nevada’s employees eat lunch at the Westside Bistro, they are investing in the future of Las Vegas and its core industry.”

“Bank of Nevada employees are excited to team up with the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas in helping to support their training program at the Westside Bistro,” said Jerrie Merritt, Senior Vice President and CRA/Community Development Officer for Bank of Nevada. “We are encouraging not only our employees but our business partners to have lunch at the Westside Bistro and show their support for an organization that benefits the entire community.”

Annually, the CALV prepares several thousand individuals in 11 job classifications for the hospitality industry. CALV also provides continuing education and upgrade training for existing culinary and hospitality employees.

Bank of Nevada supports over 80 charitable organizations through donations and employee participation in events throughout the year. The Bank has earned an Outstanding rating from the FDIC in each Community Reinvestment Act examination since its founding.
